Are you new to lead climbing or it’s been a while since you’ve tied into the sharp end?
Our Lead Climbing 101 covers the fundamentals of climbing and belaying for indoor sport climbing over the course of a 4 hour session.
All classes are limited to 4 people per instructor and must have a minimum of 2 people per class. Individual sign ups are okay but please realize if no one else signs up we will have to reschedule you for a time when at least 2 climbers can participate due to the climbing/belaying techniques within the class structure (so signing up with a friend is highly encouraged!)
Members receive special discounted pricing, as noted below. If a member is signing up with a friend, and the friend is not a member, the non-member will pay non-member pricing.
All participants must be top-rope belay certified at Latitude prior to sign up and be able to climb 5.9+ consistently AND have at least six months of roped climbing experience. Please wait until you can achieve these milestones before signing up for the class.
If you feel an exception should be considered for you, please email hzarkos@latitudeclimbing.com to discuss options.
Why do we require 5.9+ proficiency?
The jump from 5.8 to 5.9 includes beginning to learn more advanced climbing techniques, increased body positioning techniques on the wall and overall body awareness on the wall. These skill are crucial to a climbers ability to learn the skills needed to successfully Lead Climb.
